The picture above was taken from the grounds of the former Gestapo HQ. The bottom of the picture shows the cells. Immediately above that you can see the remains of the Berlin Wall. Little of it is left. Berliners hated it so much they tore it down. This particular bit remains as it is on a war memorial. It is this section of the wall where Dieter stood in 1989 when when wall came down. Behind it can be seen the building that was originally the Luftwaffe HQ where the bombing of Britain was planned. After the war it was taken over by the Soviets and became the “Ministry of Ministries” from where they controlled East Germany. On reunification, when the Government moved back to Berlin from Bonne it became the Finance Ministry. Some buildings have no luck.
